I'm having big probs with these templates, this is the 2nd time it's happened now.
Every time i try to add a template i loose all access to my website pages, i spent all morning adding videos to my site and thought i'd try a nice new templete, i did everything as mentioned in the installation instructions.
Last time i tried this for phpdtube template and when i entered in the template name and clicked edit, everything went blank and i could no longer access any page on my website, i kept getting a standard server error. I thought it was just a problems with my server or somehting, so i had to reinstall the whole site, i got it working again and tried to add PHPDAILY, this time i entered the template name, clicked edit and everything seemed ok, but i read the bit that said you may need to click twice, so i clicked it one more time and everything went blank!

Now my site is gone again!

The files are physically there on the server but i just cannot access them since i tried adding the template.

I should also mention that i changed the domain namerservers within 72hrs so i may be experiencing some probs with this but i think now that this has happened twice both exactly when i clicked the EDIT button to add the template this must be a problem with the template system.

Any ideas whats going on here?

I will email my host and see if they can get to the bottom of it....

********

Any idea if i delete all the template files if this might revert back to how it was? i guess i must find a way to change the template name back to the default one or will it automatically default to this if it canot find phpdaily?
If it doesn't default back to the oriinal tenmplate is there anyway i can manually edit a file on the server to change the template name back from phodaily to pholtine or whatever it's called? as this will allow me to get the site back where i was before the disaster!

I must find a way to try and get my site back online without loosing all my videos i've added. Any idea if i do a reinstall but use the same MySQL database name, will this keep my videos?

Any help apreciated...

the easiest way is to change the name of the PHPDDAILY folder to PHPDAILY , then you'll be able to access your site again but none of the images will work, so go into your admin panel change the name of the template your useing from PHPDAILY to PHPDDAILY and youll loose all access again but dont worry because all you then need to do is change the template file back to what it should be ( from PHPDAILY to PHPDDAILY ) hope that helps.

Thanks for that info, will try it.

I got onto my host to see if they could check there end for any probs as i lost all access to all files when this happened, they tell me that it's a php or database error so got me to add a htaccess file which ebabled error messages, this is what i now see when i try to go to my website:

Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "index.tpl" in /home/vol11/jahweb.co.cc/inija_4406657/reggaefilmarchives.co.uk/htdocs/libs/Smarty.class.php on line 1095

Does this fit in with me typing the wrong template name? or can you spot any other problem from this error message?

I will try what u said and see what happens....

thnx

Thanks,
actually i realized those images where linked to images in the phpdtube template, so i just copied over the images in a folder named phpdtube with bookmarks and it worked, was just a problem with the links somewhere i think.
