Upload FLV files, no FFMPEG
« on: July 19, 2009, 06:01:12 PM »
Well this has been asked before but just wanted to know if it was really going to be developed or if it could be done. But I think I answerd my own question. I was looking for other Video CMS's and found PHP Melody:
http://www.phpsugar.com/phpmelody.html

They offer the feature were you can link videos from other sites like YouTube, Google Videos, DailyMotion, etc.. and also upload flv and mp4 with out the need of FFMPEG to convert the video file.

Just was wondering if PHP Director could do the same.

I agree, i would like to see this. (At least so when our sites become more popular and we can afford a dedicated server- we have the option to enable this)

Currently one of are Dev's, winracer has made a upload script but it is not finalize. I believe we are go straight to Version 1.0 after V. .30 and this will be included.

We are having some issue passing it thought the Approve Panel(Only if a user uploads it).

Winracer can probably give you more information if you ask.

I don't want to use  FFMPEG  to convert the video. The upload script is working and you can approve in the admin pannl. just a few bugs in the admin pannel you can not see the photo..  can be test here http://www.myfunnypets.com/123a/

I have it set  if you are logged in then you a free to post, no admin approval need.

i am also looking in to maybe even using something like http://www.thumbshots.com/ to display the upload image and not just have a icon. could be later

let me know your thoughts please
